About the company
Netzsch Fine Particle Technology LLC engineers and manufactures equipment for the top-down, wet grinding production of nanoparticles for drug development, from small, batch testing to full-scale production. Drawing resources from its specialized Pharmaceutical Competency Center and 130 years of engineering experience, NETZSCH offers laboratory-sized grinding, mixing and de-aerating equipment ideal for working with high-quality, high-cost materials to achieve precise, repeatable and completely scaleable results

The company’s line of business as it was 10 years ago. Changes in life science/drug research that influenced business.
Our technology has enabled drug companies to look at a whole new class of materials that are poorly soluble in water at larger particle sizes and are much better at smaller particles. Companies can know re-analyze older, non-approved drugs and reformulate them. There are thousands of such drugs. This is a rapidly growing market. In general the idea of producing nano-sized drugs is getting more and more popular with all of the recent positive research that has been done. The smaller particles can be absorbed into the body quicker and therefore producing a much better bioavailability and a quicker response time.

Scientific challenges in the next 10 years.
Challenges for Netzsch are always the ever changing regulatory requirements in this industry. We have to constantly adapt to them so that we can satisfy our customers.

Factor(s) that drove the development of technologies during the last 10 years and greatest area of growths.
Netzsch is constantly adapting its technology to meet regulatory compliance and our customers’ needs. We have recently expanded our offering in lab-sized equipment so drug manufacturers can work with small batches of high-quality, high-cost materials, but than can also scale-up exactly for completely repeatable results.
