Expectations for Growth

Most researchers are optimistic about growth issues for the next 24 months.
  • Revenues: Almost three-quarters (70%) have positive expectations for their organization’s growth in sales revenue.
  • Funding: Almost half (47%) anticipate increases in funding for research (36% expect funding to remain the same; only 17% expect declines).
  • Expenditures: Almost half (48%) anticipate increases in expenditures on research-related biochemicals, instruments, and equipment (41% expect spending to remain the same; 11% expect declines).
